Five-stage Platinum roadmap
- Play the first story run on Story or Action, accumulating side, rescue and combat counters naturally.
- Unlock the three Oni Vision search abilities early. Before The Clash at Rendaino, make a manual save and clean categories by type.
- Finish the story. Use Continue to return before the final battle for remaining cleanup.
- Start the completed save in New Game Plus Carnage and finish the second story run for True Onimusha.
- Complete every listed Boss Rematch opponent on every difficulty, then finish remaining combat counters.
Continue is not Chapter Select. The evidence supports at least two full story runs; it does not promise that two launches cover every cleanup task.

Missable, online, hidden and difficulty flags
PowerPyx's launch guide labels zero online and zero missable trophies, relying on pre-PNR cleanup and Continue. PS5 has hidden trophies, but the exact hidden count was not verified; do not transfer Steam's empty-description count. Difficulty matters: True Onimusha requires Carnage, and Glutton for Punishment requires all Rematch opponents and difficulties.
Point of no return and cleanup workload
The documented PNR is The Clash at Rendaino. The platform FAQ lists 20 manual plus one autosave slot per user. Make a branch save before entering, then clean the following route workload. The 274 total is an editorial planning sum across 11 categories—not an official claim that every item is one type of collectible.
| Category | Count | Route use |
|---|---|---|
| Mysteries of Kyoto | 8 | Demystified |
| Chance Encounters | 18 | No Job Too Small |
| Lion Dogs | 36 | For the Love of Dog |
| Oni Armaments | 7 | Oni Armory |
| Hozuki Pouches | 9 | Medical Marvel |
| Charms | 15 | Charmed Life |
| Genma Notes | 23 | Genma-ologist |
| Power Stones | 54 | Well-Rounded |
| Oni Stones | 54 | Well-Rounded |
| Fine Silk Cloths | 25 | Dressed to Kill |
| Tamahagane | 25 | Dressed to Kill |
New Game Plus and Carnage
Carnage unlocks after completion and begins through NG+. Some Oni abilities, enhanced skills, Pouches, Charms, items, Genma Notes and Lion Dogs carry according to launch evidence. Story and side progress, several equipment enhancements/materials, Red Souls and Spirit Mirror progress reset; the Oni Bow must be reacquired. “Some materials” must not be read as “all.” Use the New Game Plus guide for the full evidence matrix.
Boss Rematch and delayed unlocks
Second Helping requires one Rematch victory. Glutton for Punishment requires every opponent on every difficulty; current guides list 18 Rematch menu/guide entries, which is not proof of the game's total boss count. PowerPyx's launch guide reports that clearing the highest difficulty currently available for an opponent also credits the lower levels. Verify the completion marks in your own Rematch menu before moving on, because that behavior is not documented here as a permanent official rule.
The launch guide reported zero glitched trophies, while a few community reports described notifications arriving about 5–10 seconds late. If one seems missing, wait, check the system trophy list, and record platform, version, save point and reproduction steps. Delay is not proof of permanent failure; do not delete saves or reinstall on this evidence alone.
High-risk trophy checklist
The story trophies make up only part of the Platinum workload. Use this checklist for the requirements most likely to force cleanup or another run. It summarizes the cited launch roadmap rather than inventing unverified shortcuts.
| Trophy | Practical route | Evidence boundary |
|---|---|---|
| True Onimusha | Finish the story once, start the completed save in New Game Plus on Carnage, then complete that run | Carnage is not available for the first run |
| Glutton for Punishment | Unlock Boss Rematch through the Practice Grounds, check every opponent, and clear the highest available level for each | Confirm that lower-level completion marks appear after each clear |
| Demystified / No Job Too Small | Finish the eight Mysteries and 18 Chance Encounters before the point of no return | Continue returns before the final mission, but it is not Chapter Select |
| For the Love of Dog / Genma-ologist | Collect all 36 Lion Dogs and 23 Genma Notes while the first-run map remains available | Genma Notes carry into NG+ in the cited launch guide; route progress does not |
| Oni Armory | Obtain the Bow and six gauge-based Oni Armaments counted by the trophy route | Do not confuse the seven-item trophy count with seven gauge Armaments |
| Medical Marvel / Charmed Life | Max all nine Hozuki Pouches and all 15 Charms | Make a branch save before large upgrade spending and verify the trophy before changing saves |
| Well-Rounded | Complete every Basic and Special upgrade; the route tracks 54 Power Stones and 54 Oni Stones | Counts are launch-guide planning data, not a promise that every material is available at every story step |
| Dressed to Kill | Max every equipment upgrade; the route tracks 25 Fine Silk Cloths and 25 Tamahagane | Equipment enhancement progress does not fully carry into NG+ in the cited launch evidence |
| Combat counters | Track Issen, Chain Issen, Reflex, Oni Armament and other cumulative trophies during both runs | Use Practice Grounds for repeatable cleanup where the relevant drill is available |
For Issen timing and action-name controls, use the Issen guide. For carryover and save boundaries, use the New Game Plus guide. This page does not repeat full boss strategies or collectible routes that have not been independently verified.
Frequently asked questions
How long and difficult is the Platinum?
PowerPyx estimates 60–70 hours and 6.5/10. A 20–40 hour number belongs to a different general-route context and is not a full-Platinum average.
Can you clean up after the story?
Continue returns before the final battle. A separate Chapter Select menu was not verified.
Are there DLC trophies?
Only the Base Game group was observed at the September 8 cutoff. That does not predict future DLC.
