Onimusha: Way of the Sword PC Guide
Check official PC requirements, Steam, Epic and Microsoft listings, performance samples, graphics features, Steam Deck status, DRM and troubleshooting.
Quick answer
Yes. The PC version is released, with verified listings on Steam, Epic Games Store and Microsoft Store. The official minimum and recommended specifications both require Windows 11 64-bit, 16 GB RAM, DirectX 12 and a 50 GB SSD. Capcom also provides a free Windows benchmark, but its scene is not a guarantee of full-game performance.
Store and requirement fields checked September 8, 2026. The current retail build or patch represented by technical samples was not found.
Official PC system requirements
| Component | Minimum | Recommended |
|---|---|---|
| OS | Windows 11 64-bit | Windows 11 64-bit |
| CPU | Intel Core i5-8400 / AMD Ryzen 3 3100 | Intel Core i5-10400 / AMD Ryzen 5 3600 |
| RAM | 16 GB | 16 GB |
| GPU | GTX 1660 6 GB / RX 5500 XT 8 GB | RTX 2060 SUPER 8 GB / RX 6600 8 GB |
| API | DirectX 12 | DirectX 12 |
| Storage | 50 GB SSD | 50 GB SSD |
| Official target | 1080p Low, upscaling, 30 fps | 1080p Medium, upscaling, 60 fps |
The targets depend on upscaling, and the official notes allow drops during heavier scenes. They are not native-resolution or locked-frame-rate guarantees. The 50 GB figure is storage required, not download size or peak installation space.
Verified PC storefront snapshot
| Store / region | Price and edition | Rights or account fields | Checked |
|---|---|---|---|
| Steam US | Standard US$69.99 | Steam Cloud, Full Controller Support, Denuvo, 5 machines per 24 hours | Sep 8, 2026 |
| Steam China | Standard ¥298 | Steam Cloud, Full Controller Support, Denuvo terms | Sep 8, 2026 |
| Epic US | Standard US$69.99 | Epic ID / EULA; Epic Cloud not found | Sep 8, 2026 |
| Microsoft US | Standard $69.99 / Deluxe $79.99 / Premium $89.99 | Play Anywhere, Xbox cloud saves | Sep 8, 2026 |
These are dated regional observations, not worldwide prices or a complete store list. Steam/Epic displayed September 3 while Microsoft and Capcom displayed September 4; the cause of that storefront date difference is unresolved.
Use the release date guide for the timestamped launch explanation. For console-specific fields rather than PC assumptions, compare the PS5 guide.
PC feature status
| Feature | Status | Boundary |
|---|---|---|
| DLSS / FSR | Steam listed DLSS 4.5 and FSR 3.1 | Dynamic store fields; another target note still said DLSS 4.0 |
| Frame generation | Supported in named test environments | Complete GPU, mode and UI matrix unknown |
| Ray tracing / HDR | Partial store and technical evidence | Formats, cost and calibration are environment-specific |
| 21:9 ultrawide | One 3440×1440 full-game sample filled gameplay and cutscenes | Does not establish 32:9 |
| Higher than 60 fps | Achieved in named high-end benchmark and review samples | UI maximum and broad hardware behavior unknown |
| Keyboard remapping | Reported in one PC review | Full key list unknown |
| Controller | Steam lists Full Controller Support | Advanced PC DualSense features are unconfirmed |
| Steam Deck | Store badge says Playable, not Verified | About six hours of sample play; not a full run |
What the available performance samples show
| Sample | Hardware / conditions | Observed result | Missing context |
|---|---|---|---|
| DSOGaming official benchmark only | Ryzen 9 7950X3D, 32 GB, Max | Tested GPUs exceeded 60 at 1080p; five high-end GPUs did so at 1440p; RTX 4090/5080/5090 at native 4K | Full game, build and 1% lows |
| TechRadar full-game review | RTX 4080 Super, Ryzen 7 5700X3D, 3440×1440 Max, DLSS Quality | Mostly above 100 fps; heavier cutscene drops | Driver, build and frametime |
| PC Gamer full-game review | RX 9070 XT, i5-13600K, 64 GB, max, author-labeled FSR4 Quality | Mostly around 120 fps; loading/transition hitch | Resolution, driver, build and 1% lows |
| Steam Deck short sample | 1280×800, mostly Low, Texture Medium | Usually about 30–40; lighter corridors 50–60; heavy combat/loading around 30 | Later game, SteamOS, driver and build |
These samples use incompatible methods and should not be averaged. Run the official benchmark, then re-test combat, loading and cutscenes in the retail game on your own build.
DRM, accounts and saves
Steam lists Denuvo with a five-different-machines-per-24-hours activation limit, plus Steam Cloud. Epic lists an Epic ID and EULA, but the checked evidence did not establish its cloud-save or extra anti-tamper status. Microsoft lists Play Anywhere and Xbox cloud saves inside its ecosystem. Cross-store saves, first-activation behavior, offline grace and always-online requirements remain unconfirmed; Denuvo alone does not prove continuous internet is required.
Official basic troubleshooting order
- Compare every component with the official requirements, including Windows 11.
- Update Windows and the GPU driver.
- Lower graphics settings or adjust the frame-rate cap one variable at a time.
- Verify game files in the current store client.
- Close overlays and unnecessary background applications.
- Follow Capcom's current shader-cache instructions rather than an old copied path.
- If crashes continue, submit a privacy-safe CrashReport through the official route.
No fixed “best settings” or universal crash cause is established.
Frequently asked questions
Can Windows 10 run the game?
Windows 11 64-bit is the officially listed OS. One benchmark ran on Windows 10, but that single compatibility example is not official support.
Is Steam Deck Verified?
No. The checked Steam badge says Playable. A roughly six-hour sample is not a full-game certification.
Does it support 21:9 and high frame rates?
One 3440×1440 sample filled gameplay and cutscenes, and named high-end samples exceeded 60 fps. Neither result establishes 32:9 or an unlimited UI cap.
Does it support cloud saves?
Steam Cloud and Microsoft/Xbox cloud saves are listed. Epic Cloud and cross-store transfer are not confirmed.
