Onimusha: Way of the Sword SteelBook Edition Guide
Compare Standard, Deluxe and Premium Deluxe contents, avoid duplicate add-ons, and distinguish digital kits from regional SteelBook and Lenticular packages.
Quick answer
SteelBook physical products are confirmed, but there is no verified globally uniform edition. Checked US SKUs contain the base game plus SteelBook. Checked French and Spanish products are named Premium Deluxe SteelBook Edition and add the Deluxe Kit and Premium Kit. The packages must not be merged across regions.
Release date: September 4, 2026. Retail price and availability snapshot: September 8, 2026, 19:15–20:02 CST where recorded.
Looking for Premium Deluxe Edition, rather than a metal case? Start with the digital edition comparison. An Edition includes the game; an add-on Kit must not be mistaken for a base-game purchase.
Standard vs Deluxe vs Premium Deluxe
| Digital purchase | Base game | Additional content |
|---|---|---|
| Standard / base game | Yes | Do not assume Deluxe or Premium extras are included |
| Deluxe Edition | Yes | Deluxe Kit: charms and Musashi, sword and gauntlet appearances |
| Premium Deluxe Edition | Yes | Deluxe and Premium Kit contents, including additional haori, Okuni/Oni Lady outfits and an in-game mini digital soundtrack |
| Deluxe / Premium / Premium Deluxe Kit | No | Add-ons; check the required base game and owned items before buying |
The Xbox US Deluxe listing includes the game and Deluxe Kit. The Premium Deluxe listing combines the game with both kits' contents. These official store descriptions were checked October 22; they do not establish current prices or identical regional physical packaging.
Already own the game or Deluxe Edition?
Compare your owned add-ons with the store's included-items list before paying. Premium Deluxe already overlaps with Deluxe content; buying a bundle again is not proof of an automatic partial refund or upgrade discount. Use the platform's ownership display and checkout total, not an old price comparison.
If you only want to play the story, start by comparing the base game rather than assuming the larger bundle is necessary. If a particular appearance matters, check that item in the outfits guide and the official listing. We do not present these extras as a verified story expansion.
Does Premium Deluxe include a SteelBook?
Not by virtue of being a digital Premium Deluxe purchase. A Premium Deluxe SteelBook Edition is a separately specified physical product. Match the delivery region, platform, packaging and included codes against the regional contents table; pre-owned codes may already have been redeemed.
Which collector edition are you looking for?
“Collector's Edition” is not enough to identify one package. Start with the product's actual name and region:
| Product name | What to check |
|---|---|
| SteelBook Edition | The physical case and that retailer's base-game contents |
| Premium Deluxe SteelBook Edition | The regional package's Deluxe and Premium Kit inclusions |
| Lenticular Edition | The illustrated outer slipcase and retailer-specific bonuses |
| Art & Music Collection | The separate Japan e-Capcom merchandise bundle |
| Digital Deluxe / Premium Deluxe | Downloadable extras; not proof of a physical collector box |
Capcom's August character announcement explicitly advertised the Art & Music Collection merchandise bundle and linked to its e-Capcom product page. Check that listing for the selected platform, package contents, shipping eligibility and availability. Its existence does not mean every region has the same bundle or that it contains a SteelBook.
For Whittled Oar and other downloadable looks, use the outfits and sword appearances guide. Confirm what your edition already includes before buying an individual add-on.
Lenticular Edition vs SteelBook
The PS5 Lenticular Edition has a separate packaging description. Currys Ireland, product 773809, describes a 3D outer slipcase whose appearance changes when tilted, and its format field says Disc. A lenticular slipcase alone does not establish that a metal SteelBook case is included.
GAME Spain, product 262736, lists the PS5 Lenticular Edition with the base game, a Komainu charm and a Sealed Curse sword appearance. Treat those bonus items as details of that listing: check the exact regional SKU and current offer before buying, especially a used copy with potentially redeemed codes.
Neither checked listing establishes the Deluxe Kit or Premium Kit contents of the Premium Deluxe SteelBook Edition below. Their omission does not prove that every Lenticular package worldwide excludes extra content. Likewise, these two PS5 listings do not establish a global exclusivity agreement or the packaging and media format of other platforms.
Lenticular packaging and contents checked October 17, 2026. This section does not refresh the September 8 SteelBook prices or stock snapshots below; check the retailer for current local availability.

These values are historical store snapshots, not current stock claims or global MSRPs. There is no verified universal restock date.
Is the US edition exclusive?
The checked GameStop product fields say Exclusive=false, and Best Buy has corresponding US products. This supports only that the US SteelBook was not GameStop-exclusive; it says nothing about exclusivity in other countries.
How to verify a SteelBook before buying
- Fix the delivery country and platform first.
- Match the SKU, UPC, EAN or retailer item number—not just the cover title.
- Check base game, SteelBook, Deluxe/Premium Kits, bonus and media type separately.
- For Switch 2, confirm that the Game-Key Card requires a download and remains inserted to play.
- On the purchase day, recheck price, local stock, shipping address, DLC region and return policy.
“Physical” alone does not establish whether the PS5/Xbox box contains a full disc or a code in every region. See the Switch 2 guide for Game-Key Card behavior.
Stale-listing warning
One old listing still showed $0.00, “soon,” and September 25. Those fields are superseded and excluded from the active SKU table. A stale page does not prove cancellation, discontinuation or future restock.
Frequently asked questions
Is Lenticular Edition the same as Premium Deluxe SteelBook?
Do not treat the names as interchangeable. The checked Lenticular listings describe a PS5 slipcase or listing-specific bonuses; verify a metal case and each Deluxe/Premium Kit separately on the exact product.
Is it only a preorder bonus?
No. Checked retailers present standalone SteelBook product SKUs. Any early-purchase bonus is a separate field.
Which platforms have verified US SKUs?
PS5, Xbox Series X and Nintendo Switch 2.
Is the physical game a disc or code?
The US Switch 2 SteelBook product is a Game-Key Card. The PS5/Xbox SteelBook pages checked on September 8 only establish “Physical,” not a complete disc/code matrix. The separately checked Currys PS5 Lenticular listing specifies Disc.
Will it be restocked?
No reliable universal restock date or discontinuation notice was found. Recheck the exact local retailer.
